The discovery of 1-MNA is the result of many years of research at various research sites all over the world. Scientists from the United States, Germany, Switzerland, Spain, Poland, Sweden, Denmark, Japan, China and Australia have conducted hundreds of studies on the 1-MNA molecule.
More than 50 world-renowned scientists have been involved in researching and exploring the 1-MNA molecule, and they continue to shape the scientific direction of our work.
1-MNA is a substance that occurs naturally in the human body. It is formed as a result of the metabolism of niacin. Niacin takes part in the synthesis of the coenzymes NAD+ and NADP+, which are found in numerous cells and are involved in a range of important processes in the body. In young cells and tissues, NAD+ levels are higher, which is associated with better physical performance and cognitive abilities as well as more effective cell regeneration and repair. As we age, our body’s ability to convert niacin to 1-MNA decreases and the amount of coenzyme NAD+ drops as well. This process starts after the age of 30. It has been confirmed that between the ages of 40 and 60, NAD+ levels fall by up to 50%. This results in slower cell production and ageing.
Thanks to our research, we were able to synthesize 1-MNA, which we have developed into the innovative dietary supplement ENDOTELIO.
The 1-MNA molecule is patented under the European patent EP 1713480. It has been certified as safe by the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA). It has also received authorization as a “novel food,” which refers to foods or food ingredients that were not significantly consumed by people in the European Union before May 15, 1997.*

1-MNA in nature
1-MNA occurs in nature and can be found in a small number of food products. The richest known natural sources of 1-MNA are Wakame brown algae (Undaria pinnatifida) and green tea leaves (Camellia sinensis). However, to obtain the same amount of 1-MNA provided by one capsule of the ENDOTELIO dietary supplement, a person would need to consume approximately 1 kg of Wakame algae or green tea leaves daily. This makes it impractical to rely on food alone to achieve the same intake of 1-MNA provided by the supplement.
