1-MNA is a substance that occurs naturally in the human body. It is formed as a result of the metabolism of niacin. Niacin participates in the synthesis of the coenzymes NAD+ and NADP+, which are found in numerous cells and are involved in a number of important processes in the body. As we age, our body’s ability to convert niacin to 1-MNA decreases and the amount of coenzyme NAD+ drops as well. This process begins after the age of 30. It has been confirmed that between 40 and 60 years of age, NAD+ levels fall by up to 50%. This results in slower cell production and ageing.
In young cells and tissues, NAD+ levels are higher, which is associated with better physical activity, cognitive function and a greater potential for cell regeneration.
1-MNA, by optimizing NAD+ levels, offers a new approach to this process.
Histidine is one of an essential amino acid, so it should be obtained through food. It is not synthesized by our body and should therefore be supplied with food.
